About Us
Midpoint Homes / Midpoint Property is a growing property development and management business operating across Newport and the wider M4 corridor. Our portfolio includes HMOs, commercial buildings, temporary accommodation, and serviced accommodation. As we continue to scale, we're building a dedicated, in-house team to look after the day-to-day running and upkeep of our growing property portfolio.
The Role
This is a three-part hybrid role, and we need someone genuinely skilled across all three:
● Gas Safe Engineer — installing and servicing boilers, hot water tanks, and gas systems across our portfolio
● Bathroom Fitter — fitting complete bathrooms in new and refurbished buildings, including tiling and finishing
● Maintenance Operative — covering the day-to-day maintenance needs of our buildings when you're not on a bathroom or gas job
This role was created because we were increasingly relying on subcontracted plumbers who weren't reliably turning up to site. We want one trusted, in-house person who can own all of this — someone properly skilled and experienced who can be relied on to get on with the job unsupervised, whatever it happens to be that day.
Key Responsibilities
Gas & Plumbing
● Install, service, and maintain boilers and hot water tanks/cylinders across the property portfolio
● Diagnose, repair, and maintain plumbing and gas systems (leaks, blockages, pipework, hot water and heating systems)
● Carry out gas safety checks and certification as required across our buildings
● Carry out planned and reactive plumbing/gas maintenance, prioritising urgent issues (e.g. leaks, no heating/hot water) appropriately
Bathroom Fitting
● Fit complete bathrooms in new and refurbished buildings — first and second fix plumbing, tiling, and finishing to a high standard
● Support with kitchen fit-outs and refurbishments where plumbing work is required
General Maintenance
● Carry out general property maintenance and repairs across the portfolio, including painting and decorating, fixing and adjusting furniture, and repairing door closers/arms, hinges, and locks
● Carry out minor carpentry repairs (doors, skirting, cupboards, fixtures and fittings)
● Respond to day-to-day maintenance requests raised by site staff or tenants, prioritising and scheduling your own workload
● Carry out general repairs and upkeep to keep buildings safe, presentable, and fit for purpose between larger works
Across All Areas
● Keep accurate records of work carried out, parts used, and certification issued
● Order materials and parts as required, keeping costs sensible and stock well managed
● Ensure all work is carried out safely and fully compliant with Gas Safe and other relevant regulations
● Liaise with the office/operations team to keep on top of outstanding jobs across multiple sites
● Support with occasional work on development/refurbishment sites when maintenance workload allows
