Quantity Surveyor – Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP)

79 Group Ltd is looking for a motivated and commercially minded Junior Quantity Surveyor / Project Quantity Surveyor to join our growing Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) division. Working across a diverse range of commercial projects throughout the UK, you'll play a key role in supporting the successful commercial delivery of our MEP installations.

Key Responsibilities
As our Junior / Project Quantity Surveyor, you will:
- Assist in the commercial management of Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) projects from pre-construction through to completion.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets, cost plans, cash flow forecasts and commercial reports.
- Assist with the procurement and management of specialist MEP subcontractors and suppliers, including tender analysis and contract administration.
- Prepare applications for payment, valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Monitor project costs, identify commercial risks and opportunities, and support effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and site teams to provide commercial support on live projects.
- Assist in the administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
- Support the management of change control, claims and dispute resolution where required.
- Contribute to value engineering initiatives, helping deliver commercially viable and efficient MEP solutions.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
About You
We're looking for someone who is eager to develop their career and has a genuine interest in the construction and building services industry.
Ideally you'll have:
- Experience as an Assistant, Junior or Project Quantity Surveyor within construction, MEP or building services (or be a recent graduate with relevant industry placement experience).
- A degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline (or working towards one).
- A good understanding of construction contracts, procurement and commercial processes.
- Excellent numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive internal and external working relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- A proactive/can do attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
- A full UK driving licence required.

Pay: £40,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
