Critical Maintenance Engineer

Permanent

Field based role covering Oxfordshire & Berkshire

Up to £30k base salary + overtime & bonus

What will I be doing?

You’ll be part of our Operations team, working across a variety of client sites to deliver essential water hygiene and maintenance services. No two days are the same, but you can expect to:

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on water systems
Conduct water sampling, flushing, and treatment activities
Ensure compliance with ACOP L8, HSG274, and water hygiene regulations
Accurately record all site work using company systems and software
Identify and report system issues or non-compliances to Account Managers
Build strong relationships with clients and represent SMS professionally on-site
Support and mentor junior engineers where required

You’ll have the autonomy to manage your workload, with the support of an experienced team behind you.

What do I need to be successful?

We’re looking for someone who knows their stuff and takes pride in doing things properly. You’ll need:

Proven experience in water hygiene, water treatment, or Legionella control
Strong understanding of water hygiene regulations and best practices
Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
Confident communication and client-facing skills
Awareness of Health & Safety practices (COSHH, risk assessments, etc.)
Full UK driving licence

If you’ve worked across sectors like healthcare, education, or commercial environments — even better.
