About us

Durham European Couriers provides dedicated logistics and transport solutions to customers across the UK and Europe. We are a growing business looking for a reliable and organised person to join our team and help coordinate our daily delivery operations

The Role

Working as part of our transport team, you will be responsible for helping to coordinate deliveries from the point of booking through to successful completion.

Your responsibilities will include:

Answering incoming telephone calls and dealing with customer enquiries.
Booking and coordinating deliveries using our in-house transport management software.
Entering and maintaining accurate delivery information.
Monitoring assigned deliveries to ensure collections and deliveries take place on time.
Liaising with drivers, customers and transport partners when required.
Resolving any issues that arise during the delivery process.
Keeping customers updated on the progress of their deliveries.
Helping to ensure the smooth running of our day-to-day transport operation.

As you gain experience and become familiar with our systems and processes, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility, including coordinating more complex UK and European deliveries.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Organised and able to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
Confident speaking to customers and drivers over the telephone.
Comfortable using computers and learning new software.
Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
Able to remain calm and practical when dealing with unexpected problems.
Previous experience in transport, logistics or customer service would be an advantage, but full training will be provided for the right person.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
