What you’ll do
We're looking for a Software Engineer to join our IT team.
In this role, you'll help develop, maintain and support the business-critical applications that underpin the firm's operations. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you'll deliver technical solutions that improve efficiency, enhance user experience and support the firm's ongoing digital development.
You'll take ownership of the firm's LexisNexis Visualfiles platform, developing enhancements, maintaining integrations and ensuring the system continues to meet business needs. You'll also play a key role in the development and support of Ashfords' internally built applications, including solutions across Microsoft 365 and the Power Platform.
Alongside development work, you'll provide third-line support for bespoke applications, system customisations and scripts, helping to resolve issues and maintain business continuity across critical systems. You'll contribute to technology projects, support web services and application databases, and work closely with colleagues, suppliers and third-party providers to deliver effective solutions.
This is a varied role that offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of technologies while making a meaningful contribution to the firm's ongoing investment in technology and innovation.
Who you are
You'll have experience in a software development or application support role and enjoy using technology to solve problems and deliver practical business solutions.
You have a logical and analytical approach, coupled with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Organised and proactive, you're comfortable managing multiple priorities and taking ownership of tasks from inception through to completion.
You'll bring experience of application development and systems support, with exposure to technologies such as Microsoft 365, Power Platform, databases and system integrations. Experience of legal technology platforms, including LexisNexis Visualfiles is essential.
A confident communicator with a customer-focused mindset, you'll enjoy working with colleagues across the business to understand requirements and provide effective solutions. You're equally comfortable working independently and as part of a team, building strong relationships with stakeholders and taking a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
You'll be adaptable, keen to learn and enthusiastic about developing new skills as technology evolves. With a positive and flexible approach, you'll take pride in delivering excellent service, continuously improving processes and helping the firm make the most of its technology investments.
Above all, you'll be someone who takes responsibility, sees challenges as opportunities and is motivated by making a meaningful contribution to the success of the wider business.
