Full job description

Door Supervisor / Night Security – Part-Time

We are looking for an experienced and professional SIA Door Supervisor to join our team at The Mandrake Hotel. The successful candidate will hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence and ideally have previous experience working in luxury 5-star hotels, hospitality, or security environments within London.

This is a part-time position working 3 days per week, Thursday to Saturday, from 8:30 PM to 2:00 AM, with contracted hours of 15 hours per week. There will also be opportunities to work additional hours during holidays, special events, busy periods and other operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for our guests, colleagues and the hotel premises. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Conduct regular security inspections and patrols throughout the property.
Carry out regular floor walks of the entire hotel, identifying and reporting any security or safety concerns.
Monitor and check all access points, including the loading bay, staff entrance and main entrance.
Control and monitor access to the property in accordance with hotel procedures.
Act as a professional and welcoming first point of contact for guests arriving at the hotel.
Assist with managing guest arrivals and departures in a friendly and professional manner.
Monitor the hotel environment and respond appropriately to any incidents, disturbances or suspicious activity.
Support the hotel team in maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests, visitors and colleagues.
Liaise with the Night Manager and other departments regarding any security, safety or operational concerns.
Complete incident reports and accurately record any relevant occurrences during the shift.
Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies and follow the hotel's emergency and security procedures.
Provide assistance to guests where appropriate and maintain the high level of service expected within a luxury 5-star hotel.
Be prepared to assist other departments when required to support the smooth running of the hotel operation.
Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by management and in line with operational requirements.

Working Pattern

Days: Thursday, Friday & Saturday
Hours: 8:30 PM – 2:00 AM
Contracted Hours: 15 hours per week
Additional Hours: Opportunities for additional shifts during holidays, events, busy periods and other operational requirements.

Essential Requirements

Valid SIA Door Supervisor licence.
Previous experience in security, door supervision or a similar role.
Previous experience within a luxury 5-star hotel or high-end hospitality environment in London is highly desirable.
Professional appearance and excellent communication skills.
Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations.
Strong awareness of security, health and safety procedures.
Excellent customer service skills and a professional approach to guest interaction.
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider hotel team.
Flexibility to work additional hours when required, particularly during events and busy periods.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential security concerns.

The successful candidate will be expected to combine professional security awareness with the high level of guest service expected within a luxury 5-star hotel environment.
