Full job description

Dementia Champion – Cherry Blossom Care Home (Allegra Care)

Location: Peterborough
Hours: Part-time, 18 hours per week (including alternate weekends)
Pay: £13.20 per hour

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Dementia Champion to join our Activities Team at Cherry Blossom Care Home. This rewarding, hands-on role involves working closely with residents, families and colleagues to promote person-centred dementia care and enhance the wellbeing and quality of life of those living with dementia.

What you'll do:

Advocate for and promote best practice in person-centred dementia care.
Ensure activities and interactions are tailored to each resident's individual history, preferences and daily routines.
Encourage hobbies, interests and new experiences that support wellbeing and engagement.
Support the planning and delivery of meaningful activities, events and outings alongside the Activities Team.
Build positive relationships with residents, relatives and the wider community.
Provide emotional support and reassurance to residents and their families.
Share stories and special moments that celebrate life within our home.

About you:

A natural people person with strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
Passionate about improving the lives of people living with dementia.
Experience in a similar role, ideally within a care home environment.
Creative, enthusiastic and adaptable in your approach.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
A team player who is caring, compassionate and proactive.
