PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: up to £31,700 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As the BBC’s formal learning website, Bitesize helps millions of students to progress their education. Researchers are integral to the success of the teams delivering content. You will work closely with Bitesize Producers and Assistant Producers to help deliver online, interactive, multi-media, educational resources for 4-16 year-olds.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

You will play a key role in delivering curriculum projects for Primary English and Oracy & Drama.
You will support Producers and Assistant Producers in delivering commissioned suites of digital learning content, including video, interactive activities, text and infographics.
You will research and develop content that aligns with curriculum learning outcomes.
You will review and edit text, manipulate imagery, and build webpages using a content management system (CMS).
To liaise with contributors, including but not limited to teachers and education consultants where required.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

Digital content creation skills: Practical experience creating high-quality digital content, including the use of content management systems (CMSs) (e.g. iSite), video publishing platforms (e.g. iBroadcast), and image editing and creation software (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator).
Editorial skills: Able to apply editorial guidelines effectively. Practical experience creating curriculum or learning content for children and exercising appropriate editorial judgement. Strong written English skills, with the ability to proofread and edit content to a high standard.
Project management: Able to work collaboratively to deliver elements of complex digital projects effectively and on schedule.
Working with suppliers: Experience working with external suppliers to commission and deliver content across a range of formats, including video, graphics and written content. Experience engaging subject specialists as educational consultants.
Audience focus: Understanding of the 5–16 audience, including their diversity and media habits. Able to initiate, set up and run user testing and/or audience insight sessions.
