Overview
We are seeking experienced Soft Landscaping Operatives to join our expanding soft landscaping teams where you will undertaking high quality soft landscaping works on commercial, residential and public sector projects.
As a Landscape Operative you would be responsible for carrying out a wide range of manual landscaping duties under the guidance and direct supervision of your Foreman. Whilst you will generally be working with others you will at times need to work under your own initiative without close supervision. The work is physically demanding and you would be working outside in all weathers.
Duties
- Placement and spreading of soils/aggregates
- Cultivation and preparation of ground for turfing, seeding and planting
- Taking delivery of and planting trees, shrubs, hedging, and herbaceous plants.
- Laying of cultivated and wildflower turf.
- Carry out grass seeding using specialist equipment as required.
- Prepare and improve soils using compost, fertilisers, and soil conditioners.
- Apply mulches and decorative bark finishes.
- Undertake weed control and general landscape maintenance during establishment periods.
- Operate hand tools and small plant safely.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
Experience
- Experience with soft landscaping.
- To have a can-do attitude and approach while working within a team.
- Full driving license (we are not located on a bus route or close to a train station).
- CSCS card (desirable but training will be offered to the right candidates).
- CPCS card for excavators and dumpers (Desirable but not essential)
