The Club

Situated in 42 acres of landscaped grounds adjacent to the River Thames in Fulham, The Hurlingham Club is recognised as one of the world’s finest private member clubs. Since its opening in 1869, The Hurlingham Club’s croquet and tennis lawns, botanical gardens and stately Georgian Clubhouse have made it a sought-after destination for exclusive sporting and social activities.

Fitness at the Club

The Fitness team are a large, friendly team responsible for looking after the members and their guests with regards the indoor fitness facilities; Indoor and Outdoor Pools, Gym, studio classes and Treatment Room.

The Role

Start date: September 2026.

Schedule: Weekends.

Pay rate: £34 to £36 per hour.

Application closing date: 20 July 2026.

You will be responsible for teaching juniors of all levels and abilities and have the skillset to build positive working relationships with members of the Club.

Requirements

A relevant and approved Swimming Instructor Qualification (min. Swim England Level 2 Swim Teacher or equivalent).
A genuine passion for teaching swimming and helping others achieve.
Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to go the extra mile.
Strong engagement and communication skills.
Proven experience teaching excellent junior swimming lessons on a private basis.
Ensuring a safe learning environment is provided for swimmers, members and Club staff.
Competent in completing necessary paperwork, invoicing, including swimming progress sheets.
The role will be subject to satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check results, either at a cost of £59 or, if you are subscribed, via the online DBS status check.
