Full job description

Salary: £28,997 - £43,748 per annum pro rata

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 18.5 hours

Location: Crewe

We are looking for an inspirational Lecturer to join us in our Art department.

Key Responsibilities:
Teaching on a range of courses in Creative Arts, Media and Creative Units on our E-Sports curriculum;
Undertaking other duties including tutorial support and associated administrative task; and
Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people in line with College policy.

Key Person Specification Requirements:
Degree (or equivalent);
Teacher trained (PGCE, DTLLS or CertEd) or working towards (or equivalent);
GCSE Grade C (4/5) in English and Maths (or equivalent);
Ability to teach another subject would be advantageous;
Knowledge and understanding of awarding body standards and requirements;
Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in work and the learning environment;
Experience of working in Further Education;
Up-to-date occupational experience; and
Enhanced DBS check

We welcome applications from Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) and from current industry practitioners who do not have a teaching qualification. Anyone joining the College will be part of a Lecturer Development Programme which provides staff with a range of support and training based on previous experience and individual need. The programme will offer a range of support and development opportunities, including inductions related to all College systems and processes, an assigned curriculum mentor and regular 1-2-1 support from the Quality team. Industry experts who do not currently hold a teaching qualification will be supported through our ‘Introduction to Teaching at Cheshire College South & West 12-week programme.
