We’re looking for warm, enthusiastic, and attentive individuals to join the front-of-house team at Chef’s Table – one of Chester’s most respected independent restaurants. Based on Pepper Street, we continue to focus on seasonal, ingredient-led cooking served in a relaxed and thoughtful setting.
About the Role:
This is a guest-facing role suited to someone with at least one year of experience in a professional restaurant setting, with a natural interest in hospitality, food, and drink. We’re looking for confident communicators who enjoy engaging with guests, take pride in great service, and are eager to grow their knowledge. Professional presentation and decorum are essential as we operate in a fine-dining setting.
Following training, team members are expected to build confidence in delivering a polished and personalised dining experience – including a working knowledge of the dishes and drinks we serve, and the ability to adapt service style to suit the guest. You’ll play a key part in keeping the pace of service smooth, reading the room, and ensuring dietary needs and special occasions are handled with care and attention.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 1 year of experience in a hospitality or restaurant service role
- A genuine interest in good food, wine, and guest experience
- A team player with a positive attitude and strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn about seasonal menus, drinks, and service style and cross-train on the fundamentals of wine and bar service.

Chef’s Table has been part of Chester’s food scene for over 10 years. Our menus change every 4–6 weeks to reflect the best of what’s in season, and our service style is warm, knowledgeable, and unpretentious.
We also host regular tasting nights, wine events and guest chef collaborations, offering our team opportunities to get involved and expand their skills along the way.
Hours & Pay:
- DOE from £13.50 (inc tips)
- Full or part-time
- Typical shift patterns:
- Lunch: 10:30/11am–5/6pm
- Dinner: 5/6pm–10:30/11:30pm
- Friday and Saturday availability is essential
