PLS Civil Engineering Ltd is a UK civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure and pipeline projects nationwide. We specialise in clean and waste water treatment works — including the reinforced concrete structures and pipeline installations they involve — alongside cross-country pipelines of all diameters and motorway communications upgrades (ducting, cabling and associated RC works). We regularly work as a subcontractor to Tier 1 contractors on demanding projects, pairing experienced site teams with hands-on management to deliver safely, on programme and to a high standard.
We're looking for an organised, detail-focused Procurement Administrator to join our team. This is a varied, fast-paced role combining day-to-day office administration with purchase ledger duties — you'll be the first point of contact for our office, supporting our site teams with the practical things that keep projects running, alongside processing invoices and purchase orders.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a bit of admin/finance experience who's happy thinking on their feet and wants a hands-on role within a well-established civil engineering contractor.
What you'll be doing
- First point of contact on the phone for the office
- Ordering materials for site and arranging plant deliveries
- Booking accommodation for teams working away, and training courses for site staff
- General admin, filing and daily office support
- Adding invoices to Sage
- Cross-checking statements with invoices to ensure they balance
- Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes, resolving discrepancies
- Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and site teams to resolve queries
What we're looking for
- Minimum 1 year's experience as an administrator, buyer or purchase ledger
- Experience buying/procuring materials or plant is ideal but not essential
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a varied, unpredictable daily workload
- Good at thinking on their feet and solving problems as they come up
- Well organised, with a high level of accuracy even when juggling multiple tasks to deadline
- Confident using Sage Line 50 and Microsoft Excel
- Clear, confident communicator, comfortable dealing with suppliers, subcontractors, site staff and internal teams
- A proactive approach to chasing and resolving queries
Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
