Full job description

Lawrence House Residential Care Home is a small private home, often described as homely, for up to 8 Adults with learning disabilities.

Due to increased needs of some of our residents, we are needing someone to join our team to work a minimum of 2 waking nights a week 10pm until 8am. Other shifts may also be available. 3 or 4 nights may also be considered.
A regular working pattern is provided over a two-week cycle.

As most of our residents have some hearing loss and/or comprehension issues, an excellent level of spoken language is required.

From 10pm, duties during the night include, but is not limited to, carrying out regular checks on our less-able residents, assisting some to the toilet or changing incontinence pads, sweeping and mopping floors in the communal areas whilst everyone is tucked up in bed, prepping food for the next day, catching up on the laundry, and deep-cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen.
At 7am, after handing over to colleagues, you will finish your shift by 8am assisting a few residents to get ready for the day.

Full training given, including on-the-job and e-learning. Must be IT proficient as we use cloud-based monitoring systems.

Staff are encouraged to gain their Diploma level 2, 3 or 4 with full support.

Previous experience of a waking care assistant role preferred although not essential as full training will be provided.

We are unable to assist potential employees who are working under a sponsorship.
