Full job description

I'm looking for a new team member to join us at Sushi Daily inside Waitrose Exeter. Previous sushi or food preparation experience is preferred, but we're happy to train the right person.

Duties

Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and speciality items, ensuring presentation meets high standards of quality and aesthetics.

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the sushi station in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Source fresh ingredients daily and manage inventory levels efficiently.

Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely service during busy periods.

Adhere strictly to food safety standards and hygiene protocols at all times.

Ensure all dishes are prepared consistently and to the restaurant’s specifications.

Skills

Extensive knowledge of Japanese cuisine, sushi techniques, and ingredient handling.

Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in food presentation.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of quality.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to food preparation environments.

Salary

£12.80 - £14 depends on experience

Free lunch up to £8

Free parking

Time

Full-time 5days a week, flexible days and times

Early shift 6am-2:30pm

Closing shift 11am-7:30pm.

Mostly will be closing shift.
