We are seeking an enthusiastic and technically capable IT Cyber Security Analyst to join our IT team on an initial 2-year fixed-term contract.
Working closely with the IT Cyber Security & Infrastructure Manager and senior technical colleagues, you will help protect the organisation's IT environments by monitoring cyber threats, maintaining security controls, and supporting incident response and cyber resilience activities.

You will contribute to strengthening our security posture through vulnerability management, security monitoring, Cyber Essentials compliance, and the continuous improvement of cyber security practices across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor and respond to cyber threats and incidents.

Manage vulnerabilities, security testing and remediation.

Support Cyber Essentials, SIEM, MDR and Darktrace.

Review firewalls, security controls and configurations.

Support incident response and disaster recovery.

Advise on secure systems, procurement and suppliers.

Promote cyber security awareness and best practice.

Participate in the out-of-hours support rota.
What are we looking for:
-
Experience in a cyber security, infrastructure and IT support functions.

Good understanding of cyber security principles, networking and security best practice.

Experience with vulnerability management and incident response.

Familiarity with firewall technologies, preferably Check Point; endpoint protection, preferably Sophos and security monitoring tools.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues.

Experience with Microsoft 365, enterprise networking and Operational Technology environments would be advantageous.

Relevant qualifications or certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacking, ITIL Foundation or equivalent are desirable.
