About the Role

Ranworth Medical Group has an opportunity for part-time receptionists to join our team at Clacton Community Practices, working across our Green Elms and Kennedy Way sites. We have some flexibility regarding hours and days, and will discuss this at interview.

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and administrative duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to:

greeting and directing patients,
patient registration,
booking appointments,
processing information (electronic and hard copy),
assisting patients as required,
acting as a point of contact for patients,
distributing information,
handling messages and enquiries for the clinical team,
liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.

About the Candidate

General practice is a challenging environment that requires a calm and caring approach with the ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience, offers excellent communication skills, and has the following attributes:

Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients and colleagues at all times.
Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Strong IT and administration skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable.
Previous GP practice experience is desirable

Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues. All applicants should ensure that they live within reasonable commuting distance.

Ranworth Medical Group, is comprised of Caradoc Surgery, Ranworth Surgery in Clacton-on-Sea, Green Elms Health Centre in Jaywick and Kennedy Way Medical Centre in Holland on Sea. We have a diverse patient population, of around 32,000 and all practices work on SystmOne.
