HV Energy Solutions Ltd is a fast-growing specialist in high-voltage electrical engineering, delivering protection & control panels, package substations, testing & commissioning, and turnkey engineering solutions to the UK's electricity transmission and distribution sector.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to strengthen our supply chain team and support the delivery of major infrastructure projects.

The Role
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, managing supplier performance, and ensuring all project materials are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
You will work closely with Engineering, Production, Commercial, and Project Management teams to ensure procurement activities support project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Source electrical, mechanical and manufacturing materials.
- Obtain competitive quotations and negotiate pricing, delivery and contractual terms.
- Raise and manage purchase orders through the ERP system.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Identify new suppliers and evaluate supply chain risks.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules and quality.
- Expedite critical deliveries to support production programmes.
- Manage inventory levels and support MRP planning.
- Work with project teams to forecast procurement requirements.
- Resolve supplier issues quickly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and ISO standards.
- Produce procurement reports and cost-saving initiatives.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' procurement or purchasing experience.
- Experience within manufacturing, electrical engineering, utilities or industrial sectors.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning ability.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience purchasing electrical equipment such as:
- Protection relays
- Switchgear components
- LV control gear
- Copper and cable
- Steel fabrications
- Panel hardware
- Knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Experience using Autodesk Fusion Operations or similar ERP systems.
- CIPS qualification (or working towards).
- Knowledge of the UK power transmission and distribution industry.
