We specialise predominantly in the high-quality residential sector - delivering everything from smart loft conversions and bespoke home extensions to larger-scale developments, blocks of flats, and new builds. We pride ourselves on precision, sleek design, and turning ideas into buildable reality.

As a close-knit, agile team, we collaborate fast and solve design challenges together. We are looking for a skilled, motivated Architectural Technician who lives and breathes residential architecture to join our office-based team.

The Role

This is an opportunity to move away from being just another anonymous drafting resource. At Design Spec, you will be an integral part of the design lifecycle. You will be responsible for taking residential concepts and modelling them into flawless, accurate planning and technical drawing packages, while actively supporting the team that manages our client journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Modelling: Produce high-quality, accurate architectural packages using Revit, focusing on residential extensions, loft conversions, new builds, and low-rise developments.
Building Regulations: Ensure all drawings comply fully with UK Building Regulations and local planning policies.
Project Management Collaboration: Work closely with our Project Management team, assisting them as they guide clients through the design process. You will provide the crucial technical backbone for client presentations, revisions, and design reviews.

What We Are Looking For

Revit Proficiency: Strong, practical experience using Revit in a professional architectural setting. You should be confident setting up models and creating detailed views.
Residential DNA: A solid track record working on UK domestic residential projects (extensions and loft conversions are a must). You know how these buildings go together.
Collaborative Communicators: You will be a vital link between the technical drawings and the PM team. We need someone who is articulate, proactive, and comfortable talking through design options or technical hurdles with both colleagues and clients.
Mindset: You thrive in an office environment where you can bounce ideas off colleagues, collaborate in real-time, and see the direct impact of your work.
