Full job description

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:30pm

Company: Storm Xccessories Ltd

Location: Warehouse base: 24 Lisgorgan Lane, Upperlands, BT46 5TE

Summary of role duties:

The key responsibility will be Picking and Packing orders for dispatch. This includes moving and handling of large products.

The following duties also apply:

· Receiving and checking incoming deliveries.

· Offloading, itemising, labelling and organising bay allocations.

· Keeping the work area clean and tidy.

· Maintaining a safe working environment.

· Other ad hoc tasks as requested by your Line Manager.

Education:

· Level 2 or 3 in Warehousing or equivalent qualifications are desirable but not essential.

· GCSE English and Maths Grades A-C.

Training:

· Full on the job training will be completed including:

o Induction training – educating the new employee on the role and the organisation

o Manual Handling training – important training in posture, lifting and handling of goods for all employees joining the organisation, with refresher training conducted in a timely manner

o Process training on the job – educating new employees on the standard procedures in their role

o Just in time training – is flexible training that provides learning at the point of need

o Skill demonstration – utilises observational learning to impart practical knowledge to learners

o Practice simulations – incorporate simulation-based learning into on-the-job training.

o Job aids – are short digital or physical content pieces that let learners quickly brush up on crucial job-related information.

o Workplace coaching – A more experienced employee transferring job skills to a new employee over time.

o Workplace probations to review and plan further training needs

Skills:

· Time management skills – You can use your time effectively and productively to ensure deadlines are met, and tasks are completed efficiently.

· Interpersonal skills – You can communicate and interact with your fellow colleagues, management and customers.

· Communication skills – You can convey information effectively and clearly, in both written and verbal manner.

· Social skills – You can communicate with others effectively using empathy, politeness, active listening and clear communication when required.

· Problem solving skills – You can handle difficult or unexpected situations and can work towards a resolution with some ease.

· Critical thinking – You can objectively analyse and evaluate information with logical reasoning, problem solving and decision-making skills to come to a judgement and work towards a resolution.

· Software skills – You can use computer programs, applications or software, to accomplish your daily tasks.

Experience:

· 6 months experience in a similar role

· Knowledge and experience of warehousing and stock management is beneficial but not essential

· Knowledge and experience of stock control software is beneficial but not essential

Other Qualifications/Licences:

· Forklift Licence – Counterbalance/Reach Truck.

· MEWP Licence – Genie Scissor Lifts.

· Full UK driving licence.
