Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Foundry Support Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with various support functions within the foundry environment, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high safety standards.
Working a 37.5 hour week, plus overtime when available. Benefits include a competitive salary, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays (taken at Christmas), sick pay scheme, contributory pension scheme and free life assurance.
Responsibilities
- Clearing of cast moulds from moulding area
- Removing castings from moulding boxes and preparing for fettling
- Provide cover for fettling operation
- Operating sand reclamation system
- Operating overhead cranes during casting operations and all lifting equipment in a safe manner
- Movement of waste sand for recycling and disposal
- To operate equipment to the guidelines in the Environmental Training Manual
- To carry out all operations with due regard to the environmental impact
- To ensure the correct use and maintenance of PPE and equipment supplied
- To perform all tasks with due regard to health and safety and keep workings areas tidy
- Any tasks within the knowledge and responsibility level of the post
Experience
- Familiarity use of hand tools preferred
- Basic understanding of maths relevant to measurement and assembly tasks required
- Demonstrated ability to work safely in an industrial environment and follow instructions accurately
The successful candidate would ideally have previous experience of working in a heavy industrial environment, have good attention to detail, good communication skills, be able to work under pressure, be physically fit, have manual dexterity, a practical mind set and an ability to work as park of a team.
