We are seeking an experienced and proactive Accounts and Office Administrator for a busy property maintenance and construction company based in Kennington, South East London.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is an ideal role for an experienced accounts professional with strong administration skills, who enjoys working independently, has attention to detail, and is passionate about improving systems and processes.
Experience of property maintenance or management would be a bonus but not essential as training will be provided. Experience of Commusoft workflow system would also be great but not essential. Experience of Xero, Natwest Bankline and HMRC reporting is essential.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day financial administration of the business and play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, regulatory compliance, and efficient financial operations.
In addition to traditional bookkeeping duties, we are looking for someone with excellent general administrative skills who can identify opportunities to streamline workflows, implement efficient systems, and leverage technology to improve processes across the business.
Key Responsibilities -:
- Day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration
- Accounts payable and supplier management
- Bank reconciliations
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Payroll processing
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Credit control and accounts receivable support as required
- Liaising with external accountants and auditors for end of year returns
- Assisting with management reporting and financial analysis
- Ensuring compliance with Revenue and payroll obligations
- Reviewing and improving internal financial processes and controls
- Identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements
- General office administration relating to the company fleet, insurances, accreditation submission deadlines etc
Essential Requirements-:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and accounts administration
- Experience preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Experience processing payroll
- Strong accounts payable experience
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Strong IT and systems skills
- Experience using Xero
- Experience using Bankline
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Office based in Kennington:
Monday - Thursday 9am-5pm
Friday 9am-1pm
