AREA SALES MANAGER

Hours - Monday to Friday 40 hours per week inclusive of a 1 hour unpaid break

Salary - £37,000 - £55,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience)

We serve an ever-expanding customer base within the food industry which ranges from traditional organisations through to new companies catering for the latest convenience markets.

Purpose of Job

To manage, develop and increase sales and profit contribution in existing and new customers within your geographical area. Ensuring all sales and margin targets and budgets are met in line with guidance from the RSM / MD. You may also be required to undertake other duties which are deemed to be within the business needs.

Main Duties

To contact and liaise with suppliers to ensure product knowledge is maintained and reviewed. Internal departments to ensure the free flow of customer, market and product information.
Establish and maintain accurate customer records, product profiles, promotional calendars, customer database and pricing files.
Devise and constantly review clear journey plans and customer categorisation.
Plan and execute sales opportunities within new market sectors and strategise sales penetration opportunities.
Actively engage in the annual planning and budgeting process ensuring accurate and achievable customer plans are devised and executed.
To act as an ambassador for BAKO Group, seeking to promote the Company’s services wherever and to whomever possible.

Health & Safety

Promote and maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Take reasonable care of your own health and safety, as well as that of others who may be affected by your actions or omissions.
Promptly report any hazards, unsafe practices, incidents, or near misses to your line manager or the Health & Safety team.
Cooperate with management on all matters relating to health and safety, including attending mandatory training and following issued guidance or instructions.
Use equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) properly and as instructed to minimise risk.
Participate in risk assessments and contribute to the identification and control of workplace hazards.
Support a culture of continuous improvement in workplace safety by actively engaging in health and safety initiatives and suggestions.

Job Requirements

Essentials

Valid UK driving Licence
Strong commercial acumen
Strong analytical skills
Extensive sales experience
Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record.
Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint proficient)
Excellent team working abilities and networking skills
Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills
Results orientated with a positive outlook
