Job Overview

Join our dynamic team as an Activity Coordinator, where your enthusiasm and compassion will bring joy and engagement to our residents. In this vital role, you will design, organize, and lead a variety of recreational activities tailored to meet the interests and needs of residents in a care home setting. Your energy and creativity will foster a lively, inclusive environment that promotes socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being for our residents. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors while working in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Duties

Plan, develop, and implement engaging activities that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and care needs
Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, games, and outings to encourage social interaction
Collaborate with care staff to assess individual resident preferences and adapt activities accordingly
Foster a positive atmosphere that promotes participation, independence, and enjoyment among residents
Maintain activity schedules, records of participation, and feedback to ensure continuous improvement
Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s by creating tailored activities that stimulate cognition and provide comfort
Communicate effectively with residents’ families and care teams to coordinate special events or personalized activities

Requirements

Prior experience working in care homes is preferred but not essential
Knowledge of care practices, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care techniques
Strong communication skills to connect empathetically with residents of diverse backgrounds
Demonstrated ability to organize engaging activities that promote mental and physical well-being
Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to enhance the quality of life for residents
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
Flexibility to adapt activities based on residents’ changing needs and health conditions
