Due to continued growth and strong demand for high quality subsidence investigation services, we are expanding our team and offering an excellent development opportunity for a motivated individual with a background or interest in earth sciences, geology, geotechnical engineering or related fields.
The Role
As a part of the report team in our subsidence investigations department, you will play a key role in producing the technical outputs that support insurance-led subsidence investigations.
This office-based role is ideal for a graduate or technically minded individual who enjoys working with data, preparing reports, interpreting site investigation information and presenting findings in a clear and professional manner.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you will compile factual investigation reports, prepare site plans and borehole records, present laboratory and field testing data, and assist with technical assessments using established company templates and procedures. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity to develop specialist skills within the geotechnical and subsidence sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare factual subsidence investigation reports using company templates and procedures
- Generate and annotate site plans from investigation data
- Compile borehole logs and ground investigation records
- Present and quality-check laboratory testing results, monitoring data and field observations
- Assist with basic technical assessments, including clay heave calculations
- Review photographs, site records and field data for completeness and accuracy
- Liaise with drilling crews, surveyors, laboratories and engineers to obtain required information
- Maintain accurate project records and investigation documentation
- Support senior engineers with the interpretation and presentation of site investigation findings
- Ensure reports are completed accurately and within agreed timescales
- Respond to general report enquiries from clients and policyholders
About You

You may have studied geology, earth sciences, geography, civil engineering, environmental science or a related discipline at any level, and be looking for an opportunity to apply your technical skills in a practical working environment.
While a degree is not strictly necessary, the role would also suit a graduate or early-career professional seeking to develop a career in engineering geology, geotechnics or subsidence investigation.

Desirable (but not Essential)
- Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Geography, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or similar
- Experience preparing technical reports or presenting data
- Understanding of ground investigation or geotechnical testing
- Familiarity with plans, engineering drawings or geological logs
- Experience using Excel for data analysis and presentation
Pay: £26,000.00-£29,600.00 per year
