Your future role
As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for procuring parts, services, and goods using professional purchasing practices and techniques to ensure material availability throughout the production process while maintaining the highest quality standards and optimising overall costs and inventory levels.
The position is open to hybrid working and will need flexibility to travel to client and supplier sites as required.
We’ll look to you for:
- Building and maintaining strong day-to-day relationships with suppliers, driving supplier performance in quality and on-time delivery, and managing complex procurement activities independently.
- Support material bids, contribute to cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure supply chain efficiency.
- Provide input to Commodity Management regarding their Business Unit specific Procurement needs, the evaluation of supplier performance, the description of the supply base and finally collection of past and future spend data
- Managing contracts for risk management, claims, conflict resolutions, feedback and input into bids from lessons learnt, Monitor end of lifetime
- Utilise appropriate tools and techniques effectively to ensure that Procurement delivers its cost and performance requirements e.g. global sourcing, cost improvements, Open Book Costing, Value Engineering
- Where relevant, accurately capture and communicate project-specific technical requirements to suppliers, whilst proactively engaging and managing suppliers through a Joint Design Development Process (JDDP) to ensure the effective integration of supplier solutions and support successful product development

- Strong experience in Procurement and/or Project Management with technical and operational expertise
- Solid technical knowledge of the different systems and materials

- Strong system skills, including Microsoft Office, ERP solutions, and eProcurement platforms
- Ability to apply industry best practices and leverage knowledge of internal and external business challenges to drive improvements in products, services, and technical processes within own area of expertise.
