Digital Press Operator

Established in 2002, the Reflex Group is now the largest privately owned print and packaging company in the UK, with over 900 employees operating globally. The company prides itself on quality, efficiency, ethics, and low environmental impact while remaining innovative and dynamic. Reflex Group is offering an exciting opportunity for a Trainee or Experienced Digicon Operator to join the business.

Location: Barwell, UK

Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent Night Shift

Shift Pattern: 21:00 - 06:00, Monday to Friday

Role Overview

As a Digicon Operator, you will be trained to support and operate digital finishing equipment, producing finished labels in line with company procedures. Under the guidance of experienced operators, you will learn how to run machinery safely and efficiently while maintaining high quality standards. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a long‑term career within the print and packaging industry.

Roles and Responsibilities

Learn to operate digital finishing equipment to produce finished labels in compliance with company operating procedures
Support experienced Digicon Operators to ensure machinery runs efficiently, safely, and within quality standards
Assist with press setup, changeovers, and day‑to‑day operation, working towards reducing downtime
Follow training on quality control, paperwork completion, and job traceability requirements
Learn how to maximise material utilisation and minimise waste, including substrates and inks
Ensure machines are left in a safe and tidy condition at the end of each shift, reporting any issues clearly
Adhere to all company systems and procedures including Health & Safety, ISO 9001, BRC accreditations, and documentation standards
Gain understanding of press specifications and technical details required to produce jobs accurately
Participate in continuous improvement activities within the press area and wider site
Carry out general duties as required, including packing, sheeting, and assisting with other production tasks

Required Skills & Experience

Good verbal communication skills and ability to work well within a team
Willingness to learn and follow instructions accurately
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Positive attitude, reliability, and a desire to develop technical skills
Basic IT literacy and confidence learning new systems
Previous experience in printing or manufacturing is an advantage but not essential, as full training will be provided
An interest in digital finishing equipment (e.g. ABG, BAR, Grafotronic) is desirable
