About Smart Utilities Scotland

Smart Utilities is an established gas and electrical utilities company based in Denny, with projects covering Central Scotland.

We specialise in gas mains replacement and associated utility works, completing approximately 30km of mains replacement works each year, including new connections, diversions and reinforcement works. We also work alongside the developing hydrogen gas network.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an Office Administrator to join our team at our Denny office.

The Role

This is a varied office-based administration role supporting the day-to-day running of our business. The successful candidate will be organised, reliable and confident dealing with colleagues, clients, suppliers and visitors.

Your responsibilities will include:

Greeting visitors and managing the front desk professionally.
Answering and directing incoming telephone calls.
Managing emails and general correspondence.
Maintaining organised physical and digital filing systems.
Accurate data entry and updating company records.
Using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Assisting with invoicing and billing administration.
Providing general clerical support, including printing, scanning, photocopying and mailing.
Ordering and maintaining office supplies.
Supporting communication between internal departments, clients, suppliers and external contractors.
Maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive company and employee information.
Providing general administrative support to the wider team as required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Organised, reliable and professional.
Confident communicating with people both over the telephone and face-to-face.
Able to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
Trustworthy and able to handle confidential information appropriately.
A confident computer user with good Microsoft Office skills.

Essential Experience

Previous office administration experience.
Good understanding of general administrative procedures.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good organisational and time-management skills.

Previous experience within the construction, utilities or engineering sector would be advantageous but is not essential.

What We Offer

Full-time, permanent position.
Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30.
Based at our Denny office.
