Vehicle Inspection and Yard Assistant

Salary: Negotiable (based on experience) £28,000 to £31,000
Job Type: Full-time - Temporary Contract for 12 Months
Please note: due to vehicle deliveries and test schedules, the role may occasionally require Saturday work or evening hours.
My Car Import is the UK’s leading specialist in importing vehicles for private and trade clients. Every week we receive vehicles from around the world that must be safely unloaded, inspected, and presented for IVA testing before being registered for UK roads.
Due to continued growth, we require an additional member of the team in this role.
We are looking for a reliable and organised individual to manage vehicle arrivals, inspections, movements, and IVA test presentations. This is a hands-on role focused on vehicle handling and logistics.
What you’ll do:
- Safely assist with unloading vehicles from transporters on arrival
- Carry out arrival inspections, identifying and recording any transport damage
- Take photographic damage reports and log vehicle condition accurately
- Organise and manage vehicle parking and movements within the yard
- Present vehicles for IVA testing
- Maintain clear records of vehicle condition and movements
What we’re looking for:
- Someone confident driving and handling a wide range of vehicles
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly for damage inspections
- A reliable and organised individual who can manage vehicle movements efficiently
- Comfortable working outdoors and around vehicle transporters
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
