Full job description

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team at our new restaurant, The Mussenden Kitchen located within Castlerock Golf Club.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and presentation. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in establishing the restaurant’s reputation for exceptional cuisine and service.

Responsibilities

Oversee food production, ensuring all dishes meet quality and presentation standards
Develop and update menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative ideas
Manage food safety protocols, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations
Coordinate food preparation and cooking activities to optimise workflow and minimise waste
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with hygiene standards

Qualifications

Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation and cooking techniques
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
Previous restaurant experience is essential, ideally within a high-volume or fine dining establishment
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
Strong communication skills to motivate team members and liaise with management effectively
A passion for hospitality, innovation in cuisine, and delivering exceptional customer experiences

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £15.00-£18.00 per hour
