Executive Assistant (Founding Team)
Part-Time | Volunteer (2 Days Per Week) | London EC4
Help Build One of London’s Most Ambitious Missions to End Homelessness
We are a newly established Community Interest Company (CIC) currently progressing through the second stage of our Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) application.
Our mission is simple but ambitious: to help eradicate homelessness in London through innovation, research, strategic partnerships and long-term transformation.
Our work is rooted in lived experience. Our founder spent 253 nights experiencing homelessness between July 2025 and February 2026, conducting real-time research while living within the system. That experience now shapes everything we are building.
We believe homelessness is a challenge that can be solved when the right organisations, funding, data and people work together.
About the Role
We are looking for an exceptional Executive Assistant who is highly organised, proactive and passionate about creating meaningful social impact.
This is a volunteer position at this stage. As a newly established organisation, we are not yet able to offer a salary while we build our funding base. We are seeking someone who can commit approximately two days per week and wants to help shape an organisation from the very beginning.
The successful candidate will work closely with the founder, helping transform ideas into action while supporting the growth of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the founder’s diary, meetings and priorities.
- Conduct research into grants, trusts and funding opportunities.
- Prepare correspondence, letters and professional communications.
- Assist with bid writing and funding applications.
- Organise documents, reports and presentations.
- Research government policy, budgets and developments relating to homelessness.
- Help develop operational frameworks and internal systems.
- Support partnership outreach with organisations, businesses and stakeholders.
- Take meeting notes and follow up on agreed actions.
- Help keep projects moving and ensure deadlines are met.
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Is passionate about creating social impact.
- Is highly organised and dependable.
- Enjoys research and problem solving.
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Is confident using AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT.
- Has experience with bid writing or is willing to learn.
- Can write professional letters and emails.
- Is proactive and enjoys working in a fast-moving start-up environment.
- Is comfortable taking initiative rather than waiting for instructions.
What You’ll Gain
- Experience helping build an organisation from the ground up.
- Exposure to charity development, fundraising and social enterprise.
- Opportunities to attend meetings with partners, sponsors and stakeholders.
- A central London office located 2 minutes from Mansion House Station.
- The opportunity to make a genuine contribution to tackling homelessness in London.
