Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Project Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing costs, preparing budgets, and ensuring financial efficiency across various construction projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional development within a reputable organisation committed to delivering high-quality commercial projects. The role involves collaborating closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed within budget and to the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyse cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for construction projects.
Monitor project expenditure and implement cost control measures to prevent overruns.
Assist in procurement processes, including tendering and contract negotiations.
Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and verify that work aligns with financial plans.
Collaborate with project teams to identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects.
Support the preparation of contractual documentation and variations as required.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure clarity on project costs and financial expectations.

Experience

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role within the construction industry, ideally at an intermediate or senior level.
Strong understanding of cost control principles and techniques.
Familiarity with relevant industry software and tools for budgeting and cost management.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise confidently with stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics is preferred but not essential.
