Job summary

Could you help shape the policies that will protect the future of Great Britain's energy system? Ofgem is looking for a Cyber Security Policy Lead to strengthen cyber resilience across the energy sector and support the secure transition to Net Zero.

Job description

We're looking for someone with experience leading policy development in a technical area, such as cyber security, alongside experience balancing complex risks, trade-offs and wider commercial or economic considerations. You'll also bring experience managing delivery, building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and communicating complex technical issues clearly to non-specialist audiences.

Person specification

Please ensure you demonstrate clearly, within your supporting statement, how you meet each of the essential criteria. In the event of receiving a large number of applications, an initial sift may take place on just the lead criteria indicated in the essential criteria.

Essential Criteria:

Experience of leading policy development in a technical area, such as cyber security, of high-profile, cross-agency workstreams, and managing the input of relevant analytical, technical, and legal experts to appraise policy proposals. (LEAD)
Experience of making policy or strategy decisions that balance risks, trade-offs, and wider commercial and economic considerations. Able to understand, communicate and balance security or technical needs, alongside wider duties. (LEAD)
Experience of managing delivery by set clear goals and priorities, supports others to solve problems, overcome challenges, seeking feedback and means of continuous improvement.
Experience of ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and effectively communicate complex issues to non-expert audiences.
