Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Recycling Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate all activities within our recycling facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring safety compliance, and optimising processes to maximise efficiency. This role requires strong leadership skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to handle heavy lifting tasks. The Recycling Operations Manager will play a vital part in driving sustainability initiatives and maintaining high standards of environmental responsibility.
Duties
- Supervise daily recycling operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow across all departments.
- Coordinate with team members to meet production targets while maintaining safety standards.
- Oversee maintenance of recycling machinery and equipment, performing basic troubleshooting and liaising with technical support when necessary.
- Implement health and safety policies, conducting regular training sessions for staff to promote a safe working environment.
- Organise staff schedules, monitor attendance, and manage labour resources effectively.
- Analyse operational data to identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies regarding waste management and recycling procedures.
- Manage inventory levels of materials and supplies required for daily operations.
- Lead initiatives to optimise recycling processes through innovation and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of operational activities, reporting on performance metrics as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a managerial role within the recycling or waste management industry is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge is essential to understand equipment functionality and perform basic troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, handling materials weighing up to 25kg or more as required.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent leadership qualities with the capacity to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective liaison with staff and external partners.
- A commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards is vital.

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
