The Medical Education Advisor (Durham & Darlington) provides essential administrative support to ensure the smooth delivery of undergraduate medical education across the Trust with a focus on Sunderland Medical School Medical Students. The role focuses on organising teaching programmes, managing timetables, and supporting high-quality learning experiences for medical students, while working closely with internal teams, universities, and service users.

The post holder is responsible for coordinating all aspects of undergraduate placements, including arranging inductions, booking rooms, organising / attending teaching sessions, the use of simulation technology and maintaining accurate records. They liaise with students, clinicians, and universities, manage communication and documentation, support service user involvement in teaching, and ensure timely distribution of timetables, materials, and evaluation data.
This role involves managing and maintaining key administrative systems, supporting teaching delivery, and coordinating student placements and evaluations in line with governance standards. The post holder provides effective communication and problem-solving support, keeps accurate data and records, assists with audit and quality processes, and ensures compliance with information governance. They also organise resources, support simulation and teaching activities, and contribute to continuous service improvement while working both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
