What You'll Be Doing
As part of our team, you'll be based within the Cumbria Consortium, supporting one of the UK's largest and most significant integrated facilities management partnerships. Mitie delivers facilities management services across multiple sites within the Consortium, including Sellafield Ltd, Europe's largest nuclear site, providing services such as engineering, cleaning, security, catering, waste management, grounds maintenance and projects. Mitie's relationship with Sellafield began in 2003 and has grown into a long-term partnership that now supports locations across Cumbria and Warrington. Around 650 Mitie colleagues currently work across the contract.
Working alongside experienced professionals and key stakeholders, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience in a complex and highly regulated environment where effective administration is essential to keeping operations running smoothly. This is a unique opportunity to develop your business administration skills while supporting a partnership that plays an important role in maintaining the facilities and services that underpin critical national infrastructure. You'll learn from industry experts, build a broad range of workplace skills, and contribute to a team that delivers exceptional service every day.
As an Apprentice at Mitie, you'll be at the heart of what we do, making a real impact from day one. Here's a glimpse of what your journey could include:
- Learning the essential skills and knowledge to contribute to the efficiency of your team, including managing resources, documentation, and system management.
- Building and maintaining strong professional relationships through effective communication with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
- Working alongside your mentor to gain hands-on experience supporting various administration functions on your site.
- Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards, making safety and sustainability a priority in every task.
As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto a Level 3 Business Admin qualification which normally runs for 18 months. You will be fully supported by our partnered college to achieve this qualification by having 1-2-1 advice and support, e-learning materials, and a whole team of experts on hand for advice and technical knowledge at your office.

We're searching for ambitious, driven individuals who are excited about learning and ready to take on new challenges. To succeed as a Mitie apprentice, you'll need:
- A keen interest in your chosen field.
- The ability to think critically and find solutions.
- Dedication to completing your apprenticeship and growing with Mitie.
- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grades 4-9 or equivalent) or Scottish National 5 certificates (Grade A-C). Certificates must be provided at the interview stage.
No prior experience? No problem! If you're enthusiastic and ready to learn, we'll give you all the tools you need to succeed.
