Full job description

Job Overview:

You will be working in the main offices of RARE Productions, the UK’s largest youth musical theatre company, based in Caxton, Cambridgeshire. You will be assisting with various administration duties that facilitate all our productions. This includes administration jobs for the youth musical theatre company but also for our professional pantomime companies RARE Pantomimes and the touring Outside the Box schools pantomime company. You will be required to display a flexible attitude to your work and will be required to undertake varying roles as dictated by the requirements of the Office.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Phone and email answering, customer liaison and taking payments.

· Assisting with all rehearsal, show and audition related administration including assigning scripts, making show and audition boxes and attending first rehearsals.

· Assisting with casting and staffing administration.

· Customer ring-arounds.

· Taking schools bookings for our Outside the Box company.

· Assisting with all aspects of the Outside the Box national theatre tour including assisting sourcing and packing props/costume, liaising with schools and liasing with cast members whilst they are out on tour.

· General office admin across all companies.

· Some pre-scheduled evening and weekend work may be required.

Reports To:

The Production Assistant reports to the Senior Producer

Qualifications:

Education: No formal qualifications are required.

Essential Attributes:

· Good communication and interpersonal skills.

· Basic IT proficiency.  

· Driving License and own means of transport

· An enthusiastic team player with a good work ethic who is willing to learn.

Desirable Attributes:

· An interest in the world of theatre and a good awareness of the industry and its workings.  

· The ability to work on your own initiative and to solve problems.
