Full job description

Join the UK’s largest water company and help keep water flowing for 15 million people. With 2.6 billion litres delivered daily and over 500,000 water quality tests each year, your work will directly protect the safety of our drinking water and the communities we serve.is felt across entire communities; this is your chance to make a real difference.

What you’ll be doing as a Water Quality Technician:

Collecting samples from treatment works, reservoirs and customer homes. You will have access to the equipment for testing in your van, such as bottles and thermometers.
Overseeing the management of your sampling records and maintenance of sampling equipment, ensuring they’re kept to industry standards.
Liaising with the technical scheduling team, CSWQ group, and regulatory and performance team to plan your workload and deliver the monitoring programme.
Assisting with investigating supply issues or customer complaints if they arise.

Base Location: Crossness – Abbey Wood, South East London – SE2 9AQ

Working Hours: 38 hours - rolling pattern (shift pattern)

What you should bring to the role

A full UK, clean driving license with a willingness to plan your routes, drive long distances, and be comfortable driving a large commercial van in busy environments and remote rural locations
Excellent customer service skills for visiting customers’ homes and cold calling properties
Excellent attention to detail for recording samples daily
Strong organisational skills and can work independently
An existing knowledge of the water industry, if not a willingness to learn the water industry and its processes
Good computer literacy
