Coffee Shop Assistant – Full Time (Permanent Position)

Altitude is an independent coffee bar on Cranleigh High Street.We’re looking for a reliable and committed Coffee Shop Assistant to join us on a full-time, permanent basis. This is not a seasonal, holiday or temporary role — we’re looking for someone who wants a stable, long-term position and takes pride in their work.

We’re a small, busy café that takes pride in being well-run, organised and consistent. Everyone plays an important role, and we rely on each other to keep standards high and the day running smoothly. This role suits someone who is dependable, hard-working, and comfortable working both under their own initiative and as part of a team.

This is a hands-on role involving all aspects of the café other than being barista trained.

What the role involves:

Training to prepare high-quality food and drinks (other than barista style coffees)
Working on the till and handling customer orders
Preparing and serving food
Cleaning, washing up, and maintaining high standards throughout the café
Supporting the team during busy periods and keeping things running smoothly

Like any well-run café, this role includes cleaning and upkeep as part of maintaining a professional environment.

What we’re looking for:

Minimum two years relevant hospitality experience preferred
Someone dependable who takes responsibility and shows up consistently
A strong work ethic and willingness to get stuck into all aspects of the role
Comfortable being hands on and contributing wherever needed
Calm, efficient and professional in a fast-paced environment
Friendly and approachable with customers
Flexible and reliable — this role includes weekdays and regular weekends
Someone seeking a long-term role with opportunities for progression

Hours:

Full-time (30-45 hours per week on average)
Variable shifts across all days of the week, including regular weekends and occasional evenings
