Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fire Extinguisher Technician to carry out inspection, servicing, maintenance, and compliance checks in accordance with BS 5306‑3:2017. The role is field‑based, covering customer sites across Edinburgh and the surrounding area, with a strong emphasis on delivering high‑quality compliance work, accurate reporting, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine servicing, maintenance, and inspection of portable fire extinguishers in line with BS 5306‑3:2017.
- Ensure all equipment is compliant, correctly sited, and fit for purpose.
- Produce accurate service reports, certificates, and compliance documentation.
- Identify non‑compliance issues and provide clear recommendations to clients.
- Maintain company equipment, tools, and stock to required standards.
- Manage daily schedules efficiently across the Edinburgh territory.
- Build strong customer relationships through professional communication and reliability.
- Adhere to all health & safety requirements and company procedures.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as a Fire Extinguisher Technician (minimum 2–3 years preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of BS 5306‑3:2017 and related fire safety standards.
- Competent in servicing all major extinguisher types.
- Excellent understanding of compliance, documentation, and audit requirements.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong communication and customer‑facing skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage workload, and maintain high standards of accuracy.
Desirable
- FIA, BAFE, or equivalent fire safety qualifications.
- Experience working with commercial, industrial, or multi‑site clients.
- Knowledge of additional fire safety systems (alarms, emergency lighting, signage).

Territory
This role covers Edinburgh - Borders as the primary area, with occasional travel to nearby regions and nationally when required.
Pay: £35,000.00 per year
