Role : Air Conditioning Operations Manager
Location : Lincoln ( Office based with some travel around the East Midlands )
Up to £65,000 PA / 39 hour week / 23 + 8 days holiday / Company car / pension
We are looking for an Air Conditioning Operations Manager to join our business and manage our highly respected engineering business based in the East Midlands.
This is an opportunity to put your stamp on an established operation.
You'll have a genuine influence over how the engineering team operates, from planning workloads and improving performance through to developing engineers and maintaining strong customer relationships.
THE ROLE
As Operations Manager, you will be at the heart of the engineering operation, ensuring the team has the right support, resources and direction to deliver a first-class service to customers.
You will be overseeing a team of around 13 engineers working across a wide range of commercial and industrial environments which include MOD, Offices, Education, Police Stations, Hospitals and Hotels.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and lead a team of approximately 13 Air Conditioning Engineers.
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the engineering team.
- Plan and coordinate engineer workloads, schedules and resources.
- Ensure engineers are appropriately allocated to service, maintenance and installation requirements.
- Monitor engineer performance, productivity and quality of work.
- Act as the main point of escalation for technical and operational issues.
- Support engineers with technical advice and problem-solving where required.
- Ensure planned preventative maintenance and reactive works are completed within agreed timescales.
- Monitor job progress and ensure customers receive a professional and responsive service.
- Work closely with the Director, office and contracts teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Manage holidays, sickness, training and engineer availability.
- Identify training and development requirements across the engineering team.
- Carry out regular one-to-ones, performance reviews and team meetings.
- Ensure engineers follow company procedures, health & safety requirements and industry regulations.
- Monitor quality standards and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Assist with recruitment and onboarding of new engineers when required.
- Support the management team with operational planning and business development.
- Help maintain strong relationships with key customers and clients.
Ideally, you will have:
- Strong experience within the air conditioning / HVAC industry.
- Experience managing a team of engineers
- A good understanding of commercial air conditioning systems.
- Experience across service, maintenance and/or installation.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- The confidence to manage, motivate and develop engineers.
- Good understanding of health & safety and industry compliance.
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.
- Full UK driving licence.
