We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and competent clinician to become part of our friendly team at the Lymington Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) in the New Forest, Hampshire. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician to undertake a new role for the department with a focus on the initial assessment and care of patients that attend the UTC. The role involves working alongside an experienced clinical practitioner prescriber to provide a high standard of clinical triage for patients attending the UTC, particularly during busy periods.

About the Role
As an Initial Assessment Clinician (IAC) at Partnering Health Limited Group (PHL) working as part of a team, your role is so very important in providing an efficient integrated urgent care service to our patients with a caring and respectful disposition. Working independently and acting within your professional boundaries, your duties will involve the initial assessment and triage of patients within the UTC. The role will involve being part of the team to assist in the management of acutely unwell or injured patients within the scope of practice, as well as assisting with tasks to ensure the smooth running of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Work autonomously and be accountable for his/her own professional actions.
- Provide initial assessment for undifferentiated patients with a range of acute, non-acute and chronic medical conditions, as well as varying degree of injuries.
- Take a patient history and make appropriate physical examinations.
- Formulate differential diagnoses and formulate/manage treatment plans when working within the UTC.
- Safeguard the interests of the patient and refer to emergency services when appropriate.
- Safeguard the patient all aspects of clinical decision making within your clinical competence.
- Clear understanding and experience of the modes for service delivery.
- Maintain and develop clinical competence and knowledge of care.
- To undertake appropriate personal and professional development.
Experience & Knowledge
Essential:
- At least 2 years post registration experience
- At least 2 years full-time working in an emergency department or pre-hospital setting.
- Good knowledge and experience in the assessment and management of minor injury and illness presentations.
- Experience of working in a multi disciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Clear understanding of professional responsibilities and accountability.
- Registered with the NMC/HCPC with no disciplinary sanctions or pending/current investigations.
- Degree level qualification in paramedicine or nursing
