Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant specialising as a Fryer to join our busy culinary team. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, focusing on frying and cooking various dishes according to specified recipes and standards
- Operate fryers and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensure all food items are prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, including sanitising surfaces, utensils, and equipment after use
- Support the team during meal service by preparing ingredients and assisting with plating as required
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure food safety standards are met
- Restock supplies and organise ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service hours
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene policies within the kitchen environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant environment is desirable but not essential; a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are important
- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen setting
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to follow instructions carefully and work as part of a team
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary
- Basic understanding of culinary techniques related to frying and meal preparation
