Full job description

General Estates Assistant

Salary: £25,000–£29,000 per year, depending on experience
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Working hours: 8:00am–5:00pm
Start: ASAP

We are looking for a reliable and flexible General Estates Assistant to join a school estates team on a full-time basis.

This is a varied role supporting the day-to-day running, maintenance and upkeep of the school site. The successful candidate will be happy getting involved across a range of duties, including general maintenance, grounds work, cleaning and wider estates support.

Key Responsibilities

Carrying out general maintenance and repairs across the school site
Supporting with grounds and outdoor upkeep
Assisting with general cleaning and site presentation
Helping with the day-to-day operation of the school premises
Responding to general estates and maintenance requirements
Supporting specialist maintenance or groundskeeping tasks where appropriate
Ensuring the school environment is safe, clean and well maintained
Working flexibly as part of the wider estates team

About You

Previous experience in maintenance, estates, groundskeeping, cleaning or a similar role
Practical and hands-on approach to work
Reliable, organised and flexible
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Good attention to detail
Specialist groundskeeping or maintenance skills would be advantageous

Benefits:

£25,000–£29,000 salary depending on experience
Full-time, permanent position
40 hours per week
8:00am–5:00pm working hours
Five weeks' annual leave
Immediate start available
