The Company

Laila's Fine Foods is a leading UK ready meal manufacturer and has been providing quality chilled and frozen meals to leading retail and foodservice organisations for over 30 years. The key to our success can be attributed to the winning combination of great food and experience coupled with continuous innovation to meet future customer trends and demands.

We are looking to add a first-class Purchasing Administrator to our team – strong administrative skills are essential.

Duties will include:

Supporting the Purchasing Director with general administration in a busy purchasing department
Analysing past sales and raising orders with suppliers
Following up on orders and liaising with suppliers regarding deliveries (and late deliveries)
Contacting suppliers regarding credits for damaged products or items missing from deliveries
Booking in deliveries from external suppliers
Setting up new products on internal inventory system
General stock management and liaison with internal departments
Collecting and processing supplier and vendor information
Research on pricing and materials

Experience/Qualifications

Excellent IT skills with experience using Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets and Outlook packages
Ability to priorities and manage workload
Experience working within a similar industry is desirable
General commercial awareness
Clear, confident telephone manner
Experience in an administrative position

Personal Qualities

Good communication skills with some negotiating experience
Analytical approach with attention to detail
Enthusiastic and driven, with a desire to learn and progress
Ability to work independently, can use own initiative when required
