Oaklands Farm Eggs is looking for reliable and hardworking Egg Packers / Production Operatives to join our small team in Milton Damerel, North Devon.
This is a permanent, year-round position with regular full-time hours and a predictable rolling rota.
You don't need years of experience. If you're reliable, willing to work and happy to learn, we'll provide the training you need.
Why this rota works
You'll work 6 days ON followed by 2 days OFF on a continuous rolling rota.
Because your days off move through the week, you'll get a mixture of weekdays and weekends off throughout the year.
That means:
- Weekends off as your rota rolls around
- Weekdays off for appointments, shopping and personal commitments
- Your rota can be planned in advance
- 15:00 finish, leaving your evenings free
- Regular, predictable full-time hours
- No Monday–Friday rush for appointments and errands
The Job
You'll be working as part of a small production team, helping to make sure our eggs are packed, prepared and ready for dispatch.
Your duties will include:
- Checking, grading and packing eggs
- Operating egg packing and production equipment
- Preparing customer orders for dispatch
- Moving pallets, trays and products
- Loading and unloading using EPT equipment
- Completing production records and paperwork
- General production and warehouse duties
- Cleaning the packing, production and facilities areas at the end of each shift
- Following health & safety, hygiene and biosecurity procedures
This is an active, hands-on role, so you'll spend much of your shift standing, walking and carrying out manual handling.
What We're Looking For
Experience is helpful, but attitude and reliability are more important.
We're looking for someone who:
- Turns up reliably and on time
- Is hardworking and willing to learn
- Enjoys practical, hands-on work
- Is comfortable working within a small team
- Can also work independently when required
- Has good attention to detail
- Is comfortable with a physically active job
- Can confidently read and write English to complete production records
Previous experience in food production, egg packing, farming, manufacturing or warehousing would be an advantage, but isn't essential.
Experience using an Electric Pallet Truck (EPT) would also be useful.

Our site is in a rural location and the shift starts at 06:00, so your own reliable transport is essential.
