About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, adaptable and patient-focused Relief Pharmacist to support our growing group of community pharmacies across Darlington, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool and Gateshead.

This is an ideal opportunity for a pharmacist who enjoys working in different pharmacy environments, supporting established teams and making a real difference wherever they are needed.

You will normally work four days each week across our branches, with the specific working days agreed according to business requirements. There will also be opportunities to work a fifth day during busy periods, annual leave cover or sickness absence.

In addition, you will be part of our Saturday morning on-call rota (9:00am–12:00pm) to provide emergency pharmacist cover in the event of unexpected sickness. Any Saturday worked following a call-out will be paid at an enhanced hourly rate.

As our business continues to grow, Relief Pharmacists will receive first consideration for any permanent full-time Pharmacist vacancies within the group.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the Responsible Pharmacist across multiple branches as required.
Ensure the safe and accurate dispensing of NHS and private prescriptions.
Deliver excellent patient care and professional advice.
Maintain compliance with GPhC standards, NHS regulations and company SOPs.
Support pharmacy teams during periods of annual leave, sickness and increased workload.
Work collaboratively with Pharmacy Managers, Accuracy Checking Technicians, Dispensing Assistants and Pharmacy Advisors.
Maintain high standards of patient safety, governance and clinical practice.
Adapt quickly to different pharmacy teams and working environments.
Assist with stock management, controlled drugs and pharmacy audits where required.

What We're Looking For

Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Previous community pharmacy experience.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Flexible and adaptable approach to working across multiple locations.
Ability to work independently while supporting existing pharmacy teams.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.
Commitment to delivering outstanding patient care.
