Palram Polycarb is seeking a skilled and proactive Shift Technician (Electrical Bias) to join our Maintenance team. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring production equipment operates efficiently while maintaining company facilities to the highest standards. You will play a key role in minimising downtime, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on machinery and plant equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot motors, inverter drives, PLCs, pneumatic systems, conveyors, and extrusion machinery.
- Perform inspections and testing using precision measuring and diagnostic equipment.
- Complete maintenance reports and maintain accurate records.
- Support projects and improvement initiatives to increase machine efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage lockout/tagout procedures in accordance with company policy.
- Liaise with production teams to minimise downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Monitor and maintain spare parts inventory, liaising with suppliers when required.
- Mentor and support apprentices within the maintenance team.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Key Skill Requirements
- City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent engineering qualification.
- Strong electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience working with extrusion machinery
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and organisational abilities.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good IT skills and experience completing maintenance documentation.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work
Salary Package
Salary: £43,497 per annum plus £2,400 per annum Shift Allowance
