Fire Door Surveyor

Location: London and surrounding areas - Also recruiting same position in Leeds & Scotland

Job Type: Temporary (with the opportunity for extension based on performance)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm

About the Role

The UKFM Group is looking for an experienced and motivated Fire Door Surveyor to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of fire door compliance and inspection standards to work on a variety of contracts across the London area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out detailed fire door inspections, ensuring compliance with current fire safety legislation and British Standards, and producing accurate digital reports with supporting photographic evidence.

This is a temporary position with the potential to be extended for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out detailed fire door inspections in accordance with current legislation and industry best practice.
Assess the condition and compliance of fire doors, frames and associated ironmongery.
Identify defects including damaged intumescent seals, faulty hinges, gaps, glazing issues and other non-compliant components.
Produce clear, accurate digital survey reports with photographic evidence.
Recommend remedial actions to achieve compliance.
Work closely with project teams and clients to ensure inspections are completed to a high standard.
Maintain excellent levels of professionalism and customer service while working on occupied sites.

Essential Skills & Experience

Experience carrying out fire door surveys and inspections.
Good knowledge of BM TRADA's preferred methods of maintenance for fire doors.
Ability to accurately identify defects and recommend appropriate remedial works.
Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

Desirable Skills

Experience using compliance software such as Bolster and One Trace.
Good communication skills with a strong command of spoken and written English.
Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently.
Full UK driving licence (preferred).

Travel Requirements

Must be willing to travel to sites across London and surrounding areas when required.
