Are you passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a dedicated School Nurse to join our Children and Families Service, where you will play a vital role in supporting school-aged children, families and communities. This rewarding position offers the opportunity to work autonomously while collaborating with education, health and social care partners to deliver person-centred, evidence-based care. You will help drive positive outcomes in areas including emotional health and wellbeing, child protection and transitions. Working Pattern: Wednesday - Friday
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate a caseload of children and young people, assessing, planning and evaluating programmes of care
-
Deliver focused and targeted interventions for vulnerable children, young people and families across key priority areas
-
Undertake specialist assessments and contribute to the development and review of Child's Plans using the GIRFEC framework
-
Lead and coordinate care pathways relating to emotional health and wellbeing, child protection and transitions
-
Work collaboratively with schools, families and multi-agency partners to improve health and wellbeing outcomes
-
Provide leadership, supervision, mentoring and support to members of the school nursing team and students
-
Promote health improvement and reduce health inequalities through education, support and early intervention initiatives
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- First level NMC registration with Specialist Community Public Health Nursing qualification in School Nursing or Public Health Nursing

Current registration on Part 3 of the NMC Register

Experience of working with children, young people, families and communities within a community or public health setting

Knowledge of GIRFEC, child protection legislation, national public health priorities and relevant clinical guidelines

Excellent communication, assessment and decision-making skills with the ability to manage complex and sensitive situations

Experience of multi-agency working, care planning and coordinating support for children and families with additional needs
-
Commitment to continuous professional development with the ability to work independently and lead within a multidisciplinary team
